A Psalm of David: Suffering and salvation; Christ on the cross. This is said to be the most quoted psalm in the New Testament. It is a prayer to God at a time when David is under great distress. This small chapter of just 12 verses contains a prophecy of Jesus as the suffering servant who, perfect in himself, died for our transgressions.
